Program Description

The transformation of the energy sector is the catalyst of a real technological revolution. New professions have emerged and the demand for engineers with a background in energy, computer and embedded systems is growing.

The challenges of climate change and the recent directives of the European Commission to encourage the development of renewable energy sources will have significant impact on the transportation and distribution networks (particularly for electricity and gas).

Tomorrow’s energy management will increasingly be carried out at the city, region, country, and the continent level. Smart electrical and gas networks must integrate new information technologies (data processing from intelligent sensors), communication pathways (capturing and uploading data) and embedded systems (sensor and actuator designs) to ensure the balance of supply and demand in energy requirements in real time while ensuring the stability and safety of the distribution network.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this program, the new Software Engineer will have the following skills:

  • Undertake the collection, identification and analysis of data;
  • Ability to differentiate energy consumption in terms of cost and polluting emissions;
  • Estimate the actual energy demand by analyzing consumption patterns;
  • Ability to apply new features in the field of intelligent networks;
  • Capacity to model physical systems related to the diversification of energy sources;
  • Mastery of technologies and tools to capture, store, process and visualize of data from consumption records or sensors;
  • Demonstrate understanding of the optimization methods for data processing.
