Language requirements

All applicants whose first language is not English must provide evidence of English language proficiency.

• TOEFL 80 (iBT)
• TOEFL 550 (paper)
• TOEIC 750
• IELTS 6.0

International students must also provide evidence of French Language proficiency. The level expected in French depends on the language in which the program is delivered.

For English taught programs:

• No requirement for a French test, but learning French before arriving in France is highly recommended.

For French taught programs:

• DELF B2
• TEF 550
• TCF 400

Excellent Academic Profile

• For interntional student with an excellent academic profile, such as a math score of 110 or above in the High School Diploma in China, Efrei accept a French level of B1 to start French taught programs.

Conditional Admission for Chinese High School Students

• Efrei accepts students with a B1 level in French for pre-admission to the first year of the engineering diploma program in France.
• These students must attend l’École Étoile de Langues for one year to improve their French to a B2 level before starting the next academic year.
