During an international internship, whether in a company or a university research laboratory, engineering students are exposed to the professional world of a foreign country, to other working methods and learn to work in a multinational team. This experience makes them aware of other cultures, and of the characteristics of their own.
Undergraduate studies
Internships enable engineering students to familiarize themselves with the professional world and its codes, and to discover new teams and professions. Professional experience abroad during the preparatory cycle is strongly encouraged to boost language skills, enrich CVs and learn to become autonomous in an international context.
Graduate studies
International internships are a real springboard for an international career. They enable students to build their professional network abroad, boost their language and intercultural skills, and familiarize themselves with new working methods.
To find an internship abroad, students can call on Efrei’s network of 14,000 alumni and benefit from opportunities offered by the school’s network of partner companies. They also have access to internship offers available on numerous internship platforms such as JobTeaser, and benefit from advice from Efrei’s Career Center.
In the second year of the engineering cycle, students are encouraged to do their internship in a research laboratory at one of Efrei’s partner universities. Whatever their major, Efrei students can find an internship in the field of their choice.
Students can choose from 31 partner universities in 14 countries. From the Technology Management Labs at HIT in Israel, to the BISITE (Bioinformatics Intelligent Systems and Educational Technology Research Group) at the University of Salamanca, or the RTIS Lab (Real-Time Intelligent Systems Laboratory) at UNLV in the United States, the topics covered are varied, and internships are tailored to each student’s interests.
Most of these internships are unpaid, but for those taking place in the laboratories of our Erasmus+ partner universities, it is possible for students to benefit from an Erasmus+ internship grant.
